Consultation Services

Supplementing and supporting clinic based services

ACI is here to support you

Beyond just high quality therapy provided at our incredible clinics, ACI is dedicated to helping families in a variety of ways. Our initial assessment services provide the basis for ongoing programming and treatment and allow us to better help and support you and your child. As children make progress and begin the process of transitioning into the school system, ACI provides excellent transitional services to make sure this process is as smooth as possible. Beyond that we provide additional parent training and clinical support through community outreach, top-of-the-line consultation services and even in-home generalization and support to supplement clinic-based services for clients with specific home challenges.

ACI looks at each child individually and considers all the environments and community support systems that allow that children to be the best version of themselves.

How We Can Help

Assessment for therapy

Before beginning therapy each child goes through an assessment process in order to determine their skill set. ACI Learning Centers utilizes a variety of assessment tools including the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), the Assessment of Functional Living Skills (AFLS), and the Pretend Play and Language Assessment and Curriculum (PPLAC), in conjunction with others. In addition to time spent with the child, our team of BCBAs employee a narrative parent interview to determine skills that occur in other settings. These appointments generally last between an hour and a half and three hours in total. Following the assessment and parent interview all findings are described in ACI’s Behavior Intervention Plan outlining the skills, deficits, and goals for that child’s individualized treatment program.

The initial assessment appointment is designed to establish the basis for ongoing treatment at ACI Learning Centers and provide those findings to parents and caregivers.

In-home support

While ACI Learning Centers primarily offers center-based intervention, in special circumstances our team of BCBAs, BCaBAs, and RBTs may provide additional support in-home. In conjunction with clinic-based intervention ACI Learning Centers may provide additional training to families and programming for children in their home when additional support is required. In-home support provides more intensive parent training for challenges and skill deficits that primarily occur in the home.

Contact your local ACI Learning Center to determine the ability and necessity to provide in-home support to supplement clinic-based therapy.

In addition to clinic-based therapy, ACI provides professional support to the community and other professionals in the area. Whether it be for additional training or support in a public-school classroom or a crash course in ABA training at a professional office, ACI Learning Centers’ team of highly trained BCBAs are here to help. From functional assessment, to completing a skills assessment, and from training on basic ABA principles to group training on verbal behavior, ACI can be an excellent source for evidence based interventions throughout the community.

Contact your local learning center for additional information on consultation.

In-School Support

The goal of therapy for each child is to teach the skills necessary to be successful in the least intrusive environment. Often times our goal is to integrate that child into their local public education classroom. At times ACI Learning Centers provides in-school support to assist with a transition and as a supplement to clinic-based therapy. Please reach out to the ACI Learning Center in your area to learn more about in-school support.
